An IP address is
like the phone number for your network. There are both
public & private IP's. The IP you see on this page is your
public IP address. Everyone who accesses the internet must
use a public IP. Public IP addresses are assigned to you
and are unique throughout the entire world.
If you are behind a
firewall or Cable/DSL router then you may also have a private
(or internal IP. This allows multiple people in one office
to all share the same public IP address. Your private IP
address is only accessible from inside your local network.

network issues or connect to your PC remotely in order
to solve a problem.
